Zip-LineLooking for a little adventure? How about family friendly ziplining or waterpark fun? Alpine Adventures on Main Street in Lincoln is known for its challenging ziplines, exciting rope courses, and off road vehicle tours with picturesque White Mountain views. The park which merged last year with near-by Whales Tale Water Park, has package options for the New Hampshire adventure seeker and your next “stay-cation”.

Each year both parks make improvements by adding something extra to increase either guest comfort or the number of activities available. The improvements over the past few years include the recently opened Thrillsville Aerial Fun Park with a new BigAirBag Stuntzone. For guests age 12 and older the BigAirBag Stuntzone tube ride sends visitors down a large ramp and soaring through the air to land into a giant air bag. The Thrillsville Aerial Park, generally for ages 8 and older, also offers rope ladders and bridges, cargo nets, ziplines, a cool treehouse, and a climbing tower, just to name a few activities. Last year’s 2014 season welcomed the Tree-Top Family Tour which accommodates children that are a minimum of 50 pounds, versus the previous tour that was a minimum of 70 pounds for admission.

For the family seeking adventure, the Tree-Top Family Tour is a popular choice. Guests are taken on a ride up the mountain in the six-wheel military vehicle and then try some ziplining with a tour guide. But, this all begins at ground level, rather than from a launch pad perched high in the trees. So, it is more kid-friendly. The whole experience is far less intimidating and a great way to introduce the activity to children.

What are the most popular thrills?

Thrillsville, the self-guided aerial obstacle course (ropes and bridges take you through the tree tops and challenge your comfort level with heights) is a favorite of guests. Package options that combine adventures are also a guest favorite with the ability to take on both the Tree-Top Canopy Tour and the Sky Rider Zipline Tour at a special rate.

Family fun for ages 3 and up…

Children must be at least 3 years old to go on their Off-Road Tour, and at least 6 years old to take on Thrillsville and Tree-Top Adventures. The park requires children to be 7 years old for SkyRider and Super SkyRider.

A minimum of 50 pounds is required with a max of 240 pounds on Thrillsville and TreeTop, and a minimum of 70 pounds and a maximum of 240 pounds on SkyRider. A maximum of 220 pounds on the Super SkyRider with a max height of 6 foot 5 inches.

Packages with tickets to Alpine Adventures and Whale’s Tale Water Park are also available.  Some family favorites at Whale’s Tale include Harpoon Express, a 400-foot long and 7-foot wide attraction that sends from 1-3 riders down a bobsled style course. Beluga Boggin is a 360-foot tube ride that has no height restriction and lets little children get in on the action on its gentle figure 8 course.

One of the most popular attractions, the giant wave pool, brings the ocean to you. While Shipwreck Island is a state of the art water complex that allows for climbing, sliding, and splashing fun,  as well as dumping a few hundred gallons on those onboard when they least expect it.  For small children, Whale Harbor offers a special activity pool that gets no deeper than 16 inches of water and has four waterslides and three fountains.
